Syawal : A time to reconnect

As Syawal emerges, dressed in mesmerising lights and joy,
it transforms into a connection,
igniting a heartfelt celebration,
Old stories comes to life like radiant bulbs in the night,
and with each smile, each joyous laugh,
stirring memories and awakening new ones.

Life seems to get busier and busier with so little time on our hands. As with technology, things should get easier and do things more efficiently. However it does not feel we have more time to spare. As hours turn into days and days into weeks and so forth, our engagement with those that we were once close, seems to drift apart and that we live in our own little bubble, minding our own business for a long stretch of time.

Love and Life

Life is unpredictable. Sometimes when you think you have it figured out, you are smacked in the face by something that came out of nowhere. Like the pain it inflicts, it also jolts your perspective of life. Suddenly a different outlook of life is made visible. What it did was, it just threw all else out of the priority list, replaced by a new prescribed importance. So is Love. A lot of time, it comes as it pleases. We are not the one who get to choose when and with whom we share it with.

Love has been a mystery for millennia. From the first lovebirds of our great ancestors, Adam and Hawa (Eve), to the current times of you and me. We fall in love in mysterious ways. From love at first sight to emotional and even intellectual attraction, to growing in love over a distant time, souls somehow connect. Out of millions or billions of people, there are souls that connect and disconnects. From immediate attractions to those that grows on you. In contrast there those that have immediate disgust or repulse at another.

Love often feels like the emotional core of life – whether it’s romantic, platonic or even self-love. Love can come at you when you least expected it. The attraction that transcends reasoning. The longing and missing of ones lover. The timing of meeting the love of your life, can be sometimes unexpected. Love gives Life meaning, depth, and a lot of times chaos. Love can also be overwhelming, fragile and consuming. The highest of high and the lowest of low.

The Beautiful Sadness that Love brings.

Value of Love

Generations unfold, father to son, mother to daughter. Where one leaves off, the other follows, destined to repeat each other mistakes, each others triumphs. But, how do we see the world if not through their lens? The same fears, the same desires. Do we see them as an example to follow or as a warning of what to avoid? Choosing to live as they have simply because it is all what we know or driven to create our own identity? And what happens if we find them to be a disappointment? Can we replace them? Our beloved mothers and fathers. Will destiny drive us to find our way back? Back to familiar comforts of home?

I sat there, for how long it doesn’t seem to matter. There I was, staring at the blank pages before me. An old laptop where I usually find to be more than a companion. Wondering how to speak these unspoken words, how to express these unwritten thoughts? Continue reading “Value of Love”

Dreams of Inspiration

The world went dark for a while as a partial solar eclipse occurred on the Lunar New Year. The sun shone through again but for many of us the dark gloom is here to stay. Continuous fighting and internal tussles mark a dark truthful blot in our lives. Many people questions are there no more love in the world we live today? Are there no such things as pure goodness? We are pressed from all corners of life. Is there truly a way out?
